New Feature

Apart from Geojson files, it is now also possible to upload your geodata (points or polygons) with KML files.

Also with KML’s the same rules apply: Only the first point listed in your file will be imported. All polygons will be imported. The geo file has to be in the reference system EPSG:4326 WGS84.

New Feature

Keep your organization and all its projects in a controlled environment. The new Exclusive Navigation Bar for Organizations lets you exchange the traditional explorer.land navigation bar with an exclusive navigation bar for your organization. This prevents visitors from leaving your organization’s presentation and further more enables you to enhance your exclusive navigation bar with customisable links.

While exploring through your orgainzation’s projects, visitors will always be able to navigate back to your organization’s profile page by clicking the organization’s logo on the left side of the navigation bar.

You can also add usefull links to the right side of the navigation bar.

This big feature improvement brings you a completely revamped and rethought version of the old Sponsor Module. Some of the updates made include:

  • Managing the sponsors and contributions of all your projects from one place

  • Showing contributions of all or only one sponsor

  • Link contributions to specific sites (benefitet sites)

  • Exclusive Sponsor pages

Just like on any map platform, you have now the possibility to search for any place on explorer.land. This new place search (powered by google earth) let’s you find and navigate to any place on the planet.

Click on the magnifying glas icon on the top left of the map to start your search.

Searching for projects on explorer.land just got easier! The new explore page lets you filter smarter and with greater precision.

Use the search field to quickly find projects or apply filters from our extended list including:

  • Organizations

  • Countries

  • Activity types

  • Stakeholder types

  • SDG’s

  • Certifications

  • Goods

Thematic Layers

With Thematic Layers, explorer.land can provide more information about the project context and its impact. Any relevant global data layer can now be integrated and presented within the Project map so that everyone can have access to more data-driven transparency.

New improvements to the thematic layers:

  • Search bar by layer name

  • New search filter by country

  • New layer categories

  • Custom default layers on project level

The footprint propagation can be used to show a site of your project, e.g. the exact limits or a more diffuse area of influence of your project on the map of a linked Organization and/or Landscape Project.

User Dashboard News

🏷️ Landownership types for Projects

Enhance your project classification with our newest Project category: landownership type. Currently, there are four options available:

  • Private

  • Public

  • Collective/Communal

  • Other

This addition helps you refine your listings and enables users to tailor their searches more effectively based on their preferences.

📐Site area

A new field is now available for all Site entries with one or more polygons, showing its total area in ha.
