In a very intuitive and easy-to-use interface, the Thematic Layers library enables you to find layers in the categories of Forest Change, Fires, Land Cover, Land Use, Carbon, Biodiversity and others.
This includes layers such as Tree cover loss and gain, Land cover, Soil carbon density, and WWF Priority ecoregions.

How to add Thematic Layers from the library
Regardless if you are navigating within a project, within an organization or just exploring the map, you will be able to activate any Thematic Layer. To do that, click on the "Layers" icon on the top right of the map. This will open the Thematic Layers interface.

The Thematic Layers interface always opens with 4 default layers: Fire alerts, Deforestation alerts, Tree cover loss and Tree cover. Click on any of them to activate (a dropdown will open with the legend and other settings) and turn on the layer on the map. Click again to close dropdown and deactivate layer. You can activate as many layers as you want silmutaniously.

Click on the Library tab or on + ADD LAYERS to access all available layers.

Here you will find a list of all available Layers. Greyed out and checked Layers are already selected and will appear on the active Thematic Layer list. Select the Layers you want to add to the active list by clicking on them. Selecting them in the library will automatically activate them on the map.
You can also search for specific Layers by using the search field or filter by countries that have specific country-relevent Layers assigned to them, like mining and logging concessions Layers.

Click "BACK TO ACTIVE LAYERS" or the Active tab to go back to the main list.

Working with Thematic Layers
Switch Thematic Layers On and Off
On the Active Layers tab, to switch the Layers on or off the map, just click on top of the relevant Layer field and you will see it appear or disappear on the map behind (in some cases loading time is required). When active, a dropdown will open with the legend and other settings like opacity.

Change the overlay order
Besides activating and deactivating the Layers, you can also reorder them. This will define which Layer will be on top on the map when two or more Layers are activated. To reorder the Layers simply drag and drop the Sort icon (=) on top of each Layers.

Change the opacity
When a Layer is active you can also decrease/increase opacity to make it more/less transparent on the map. To do this use the opacity slider of each active layer. You can determine the opacity for each Layer by dragging the bar to the left or right, allowing you to better see the satellite map base layer or other Layers underneath.

Find out the Data Sources
Each Layer has detailed information about the data sources, which you can access by clicking the "information" icon.

Remove Thematic Layer from main list
To remove all Layers you added to the Active Layers list from the library, click RESET LAYERS at the bottom left. Only the default layers will remain on the Active Layers list.

To remove individual Layers from the Active Layers list, go back to the Library list and deactivate those Layers by clicking on them.
